Summer is here! If you are planning to vacation abroad this year, you will need to take a few simple steps to take your Mid-Rivers email with you.
For security reasons, our default settings only allow connections from North America. If you are traveling outside the continent, you can change your email settings to allow logins from the places you visit.
To find this setting, log in to your webmail at mail.midrivers.com. On the left hand navigation panel, click on “Security Options.”
Scroll down to the “Countries I Can Access My Email From” section. In the “Blocked Countries” list on the right-hand side, click on the one(s) you will be visiting. You can hold down the Ctrl key while clicking to select multiple countries from the list. After you have selected your Country(ies), click the bottom (left-pointing) arrow to move them to the “Allowed Countries” list, then make sure to click “Save Country Restriction.” If you like, you can move them back to the Blocked Countries list after you return home for added security. These block settings help prevent someone from a foreign continent from logging into (hacking) your email.
If you are already out of the country, you will need to use a VPN to get a United States IP address before you can log in to change these settings. Here are a few VPN options to try:
